First thing you need to do is get your GPA up because you will have a VERY hard time getting a job with such a low GPA..So if I were you I would be more concerned with that than what is out there when you graduate in 3 years!!

I agree with the previous post. The accounting classes only get more difficult each semester so you shouldn't worry about the job outlook now. The job outlook is only going to change in the next three years anyway.
If you don't raise your GPA, most firms aren't going to take you seriously anyway. Pace yourself.

Are you asking about these things becuase you are not sure if you want to stay in Acct?
Your GPA doesn't tell me anything because if it's your first semester, it could very well be you've never taken a business class. There are plenty of good jobs in this field. Don't let a couple of idiots in other topics worry you about that.
Take Principles of Accounting class. If you get a B or an A, you will be fine as long as you make the committment to studying hard. If you get a C or less in Principles, you may want to rethink your plan, because the classes get a LOT harder after that.

I didn't do very well my first two years of college so don't feel too bad. The thing you are going to have to understand is juggling your business with school. Whatever your reasons are, now is the time to buckle up and make sure you maintain that B average if you want a job at a Big 4 or mid-tier firm. Just because you have your own business, it won't excuse your bad grades unfortunately because the GPA is the pass code to get in (unless you have connections).
Good luck.

Truth be told I actually did excellent the semester xcept towards the end. I really just didn't study for finals because I thought I was "All That". I still read my curriculum text book and a lot of text books you saw in my trade topic in the off topic forum.
So I guess i'll shift this conversation more to GPA Concern. I really feel like I shamed myself last year with what I did but it was my choice. I guess the question I have is how important is GPA from starting college to ending it.
Like if I had a low GPA in a CC and got accepted by a University and great at the university. If you were a recruiter would you even hold the past against me? Or would you take that as a sign of me improving tremendously?
Thanks for the replies, I really do appreciate it.

No, they don't hold the past against you. First you need a good GPA to get into a University. Once you're accepted, the GPA from the University is usually the one they look at. You just don't want to put yourself into a position where you are trying at the end to bring up your GPA because it can be too little too late. Last semester is over so learn from your mistakes and really prepare yourself for this coming semester. The better you do in school, the more opportunities you will have later on. I'm not saying your have to have a 4.0 but you should set a goal for yourself to have a GPA 3.4 and higher.
