 Adult swim Losing its Action?

If I remember correctly, Adult Swim initial line-up was comedy shows and Cowboy Bebop (or did that come a bit later?).

Given that comedy is Adult Swim's bread and butter, it will continue to be William St.'s primary focus. Just like it's always been.:ermm:

You're correct. This was the original block schedule when it premiered back in 2001:

10PM - Midnight: Comedy
Midnight - 1AM: Cowboy Bebop

Action and Comedy would separate 5 months later.

Ah i always thought that it was the other way around. All's that i could remeber of that beginning was Cowboy Bebop, maybe its b.c it was the only thing i really took to interest. Well i just figure since Toonami isn't what it used to be that Adult swim could of took its spot. But with all of the comedy that doesnt seem to happen.

Certain people speculate whether or not AS is neglecting its anime action segments. I can't say for sure, I've seen a lot of animes on AS since it debuted in 2001. Everything from Bebop to Eureka Seven, they've all been good.

However, the thing you have to remember is that AS was basically set up so that adults could watch mature themed cartoons (such as ATHF, Harvey Birdman and such). The action came in second, but grew gradually.

My view is this, AS action will always be there. If not, the fans of action AS will do what they did when they cut the final episode of Eureka seven: They flamed and spammed the hell out of them. I know AS doesn't want that to happen, so they gottasta keep the fandom happy. Although I am surprised they never put up a new show to replace E7, like thye usually do when an animes run ends.

Hmmmm....Eureka Seven took a plunge basically they dont even show the reruns kinda sad since InuYasha has had reruns for the past what half a year maybe? Anyway as for the action/anime genre on AS, it is true it was never that big, although if I remember correctly here are some that they started playing back when or almost when they started: Cowboy Bebop, InuYasha, and YuYu Hakasho(SP). Later on it became a big section including the following shows: FLCL, Blue Gender, Big O, etc. Finally now it is again on the decline, so yeah it was pretty big before, but not huge.
