Clothing Care For Traveling Students

Students who are traveling do not always think of the wear and tear on their clothing as they travel from destination to destination. Rips, tears, spots, and being able to do laundry are some things that every traveling student should remember to incorporate into their planning.

During packing, adding in some items to aid in the repair and care of clothing can help the student in the long run of a trip. Items such as sewing kits, inflatable hangers, pocket sized clothes line, and spot removers are great additions.

Spot removers, which include the new easy to carry ‘pens’ can eliminate embarrassing stains while in restraunts or eating at a friend’s home. Stains can happen in any situation and having a stain remover will aid the student greatly.

Inflatable hangers are small enough to be packed into luggage with clothing. Use of the hangers in hotels where there are none supplied or have been liberated by previous visitors are a boon. Clothing can also be hung up to drip dry at a moments notice with these hangers.

Pocket size clothes line can replace a missing closet rod, become a makeshift curtain rod or shower curtain holder, and even be used to help hang mosquito netting. These are just a few uses other than for drying clothing.

Sewing kits are the essential item in any student travelers suitcase or bag. With just a few stitches, the traveler can repair small tears, burn holes, or adjust clothing to fit just a bit better. Most sewing kits include small scissors, various colors of thread, needle threaders, and thimbles.

One more item to consider is a wrinkle and static spray to freshen clothing when it is removed from the luggage and hung.
