Going to College in a Different State


So you are graduating from high school and feel as if it is time to spread your wings. Going to college in a different state gives a college freshman a sense of freedom that is not allotted to freshman at a college close to their childhood home.

A college in a different state is a fresh start. This is a chance to really start your life on your own. One of the benefits of going to a college away from home is all of the new experiences. This is the perfect opportunity to live in a different state and to experience a new and exciting city or town.

Many college students have found it very rewarding to go to a college that is thousands of miles from home. If you have lived on the West Coast for most of your life this is a chance to experience life on the East Coast. There are so many options when choosing a college in a different state.

Going to college away from home does have one setback. There is more responsibility placed on the college freshman. Some college freshman experience homesickness at the beginning of their first semester. This feeling usually passes with time. Remember that college is supposed to be an experience, a new way of life.

If you feel like having an adventure, experiencing new places and meeting new people then a college away from home is probably the perfect choice. College is a great time to not only get an education but to visit new places.
