University of Stuttgart

The University of Stuttgart is a public educational university in Germany for students wishing to study the subjects they offer. This university has ten faculties, 5,000 highly skilled staff members and 18,500 diligent students.

The University of Stuttgart was founded in the year of 1829, which makes it rather old. The university’s 175th anniversary was celebrated three years ago, in 2004. Due to the growing importance of the technical sciences as well as the other studies for the learners, since 1876 the university was referred to as the Technical College. Because of the expansion of the courses that are studied at the Technical College of Stuttgart, in 1967 it was renamed once again, this time being called the Universität Stuttgart and this is what it is still known as today.

From the late 1950’s a section of the university has been situated in the town of Vaihingen. The majority of the technical subjects like computer science, engineering, mathematics, etc. are now situated in Vaihingen and the other subjects like architecture, social sciences and other related subjects are still situated in the city centre campus. It is one of the most important technical universities in Germany that is greatly ranked in electrical engineering, civil engineering and mechanical engineering.

Besides the fact that this is a wonderful university to study at, it has also had a few famous individuals study there; some of these people include Gego, Heinrich Barmer, Gottlieb Daimler, Mario Heinen, Ernst Heinkel, Ulf Merbold, Wunibald Kamm and Walter Kreiser.
